FKM Received BIW under Proton’s Local Expert Attachment Program (LEAP)
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Fakulti Kejuruteraan Mekanikal – FKM) has recently received one unit of Car Body In White (BIW) worth RM15,000 from Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) under Proton’s Local Expert Attachment Programme. BIW refers to the stage in automobile manufacturing of which a car body’s sheet components have been welded together as shown in the following figure. The car BIW is targeted to be used for model analysis and finite element model updating which are crucial in research for automotive engineering.
